Eternal Flame

You will need:

Paint Shop Pro
Animation Shop
Tube of choice - I'm used Elias Chatzoudis, which I purchased from My PSP Tubes

Flaming Pear - Ornament and Sphere Warp A
MuRa's Meister - Copies
Eye Candy 4000 - Fire (optional)
Mask from
Weescotslass (please download Masks 121-180)
Font of choice

Put your mask into your mask folder.  Open a new blank canvas, flood filled with white, 500 x 500.  Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize if necessary, and duplicate.  Hide the copy for now, we'll come back to that.  Now with your original active, go to MuRa's Meister Copies, apply the following settings:

Keep selecting random until you are happy with the coverage.  I had to select five times before I was happy with it.  Next got to Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur set to 5.

Next go to Flaming pear and add Ornament (how cool does that look!), then add Sphere Warp A.  Then go to Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk, and find the following mask with these settings.

Once loaded, select your Pick tool, and drag the nodes out on your mask until it fits the canvas.  Then right click on your mask layer and merge group.

Now take your rectangle tool, Foreground a dark colour (I'm using black), and background set to null, line width 3.  Draw a rectangle around the middle rectangle of your mask.  I've done mine so that it leaves a couple of millimetres between the solid colour and where I've drawn my rectangle (see finished tag).  Once happy convert to raster.  Draw another rectangle around the top rectangle of your mask.  I've hugged this around the solid colour this time.  Happy, convert to raster, duplicate and Image/Flip.  Merge these two together and add a drop shadow of V & H = 0, Opacity = 48, and Blur = 8.

Unhide your tube, position to your liking, and add a drop shadow.  I added the same as before, but then must moved it slightly to the right.

At this point you can add any text you like, your name, and copyright.  If you don't want to add the fire, then add the drop shadow to your large rectangle that you added to your smaller set, and save as a jpeg, or png.

If you are now adding your flame, activate your large rectangle shape, and using your magic wand, all set to 0, select inside the rectangle.  If you haven't hugged your solid shape when you added the rectangle, you may want to contract your selection by about 2.  Add a new raster layer below your rectangle, then add Eye Candy 4000 - Fire, with these settings:

Add a new raster layer, and apply the fire again, clicking the random seed button once.  Add another layer, and again apply fire, clicking random seed again.  Select none.

Hide two of your fire layers, copy merged, and paste as a new animation over in Animation Shop.  Go back into PSP, hide that fire layer, and unhide the next one.  Copy merged, and paste after the current frame in Animation Shop.  Repeat with the last fire.  Select all frames in Animation Shop, and change the frame properties to 20.  Save as a gif file.  You are done.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
